Terms of Service

These terms govern access to and use of the Backup Verified website and services.

Backup Verified

Effective date: January 31, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Backup Verified website or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the services.

2. Description of service

Backup Verified provides software and services for encrypted backups and restore verification. The service is designed to help you maintain reliable backups and provide evidence that restores can succeed. Features, availability, and functionality may change over time.

3. Account registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information current.

4. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service or interfere with its normal operation.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data.
You may not use the service to transmit malware, exploit vulnerabilities, or perform unlawful activities.

5. Data, security, and backups

You are responsible for configuring backup sources, schedules, retention, credentials, and network access required for backups and verification. Backup Verified encrypts backup data and is designed to verify recoverability through restore testing. However, we do not guarantee that backups or restore verification will be error-free, uninterrupted, or successful in all environments.

6. Fees and billing

Subscription pricing, billing cycles, and payment terms are presented at the time of purchase and may be updated from time to time. Unless otherwise stated, billing is based on UTC calendar months.

Base subscription: charged in advance for the upcoming billing period.

Metered usage: certain usage may be billed as overages. Storage is measured as GB-month (the amount of encrypted data stored over time). Downloads/retrieval are measured by encrypted bytes transferred.

Manage Subscription: upgrades, downgrades, payment method changes, invoices/receipts, and cancellation are handled through the Stripe Customer Portal (our “Manage Subscription” flow).

Cancellation: cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term (end-of-term), not immediately, unless otherwise required by law.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service if these terms are violated, if required to protect the service or other users, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used in a way that creates risk to Backup Verified or others.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Backup Verified shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service.

10. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
